Evan Crocker DVM, Practice Owner
EDUCATION
Doctor Crocker earned a BS in Biology from Cal State San Bernardino in 1992 and a BS in Veterinary Science as well as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Washington State University in 1994 and 1996 respectively. After graduation he worked as an associate veterinarian in Monroe, WA and subsequently purchased the Seattle Veterinary Dentistry in 1997. Doctor Crocker has formed a healthcare team and practice that he is very proud of, whose goal is to provide the highest level of health and preventive care possible in a compassionate and caring environment.
RESIDENCY
Over the past decade he has developed a very strong interest in advanced veterinary dentistry and oral surgery and has constantly improved the quality of dentistry services offered through continuing education and equipment upgrades needed to do excellent work.
This passion was formalized in 2011 when he entered a residency program to work toward meeting the requirements for Board Certification in Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery. Doctor Crocker enjoys all facets of Dentistry including root canals, restorative dentistry, jaw fracture repair, oral cancer surgery, and periodontal disease treatment. He enjoys dentistry since “It allows me the opportunity to have an instant and profound impact on an animal’s quality of life, same day. I cannot express the joy I feel when pet parents tell me that they have seen huge improvement in just a few days after their dog or cat has had oral surgery.”
Seattle Veterinary Dentistry is currently one of five practices in Washington State offering advanced dental care at this level.
MEMBERSHIPS/INTERESTS
He is a member of the Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry, Washington State Veterinary Medical Association, Puget Sound Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. His outside interests include spending time with his family and pets, playing soccer with his GSSL team, watching English Premier League and club soccer, attending Sounders games, and playing video games (when there is time).
Julia Mulvaney, DVM – Associate Veterinarian
An Edmonds native, Dr. Julia Mulvaney is returning home after graduating at the top of her class at Oregon State University. After finishing a Psychology/Biology degree at the University of Portland in Oregon, she began working at a physiology research laboratory at Oregon Health and Sciences University. On her days off, Dr. Mulvaney volunteered at a feline shelter, which led to the discovery of her true calling as a veterinarian.
During her time at OSU, Dr. Mulvaney led a group of students and veterinarians on an annual summer service trip to Ometepe Island, Nicaragua. In this rural community, the team provided dental care for dogs, cats, horses, cows, goats, pigs, and parrots. Dr. Mulvaney brings a passion for animal welfare and community building to the pets and clients we care for at Seattle Veterinary Dentistry.
Dr. Mulvaney’s other interests include internal medicine, particularly feline medicine, senior pet wellness, as well as alternative treatment modalities such as acupuncture. She attended Colorado State University’s Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians program and began offering acupuncture services at MIVC in 2013. Dr. Mulvaney is a member of the AAFP (American Association of Feline Practitioners).
When she is not seeing patients at our clinic, Dr. Mulvaney is busy taking care of her two baby girls (almost 3 years, 6 months), enjoying some outdoor time running or hiking with her Border collie McCoy, or snuggling her two cats Coco and TK.
Melissa Wu, DVM- Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Melissa Wu grew up in Olympia and always knew she wanted to become a veterinarian. A proud Cougar, she earned her BS in Neuroscience followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Washington State University. After years in small animal practice in Olympia, her family moved up to Mercer Island in the summer of 2016 and she joined the team at MIVC in the fall. Dr. Wu particularly loves surgery, and enjoys general practice because it offers a little bit of everything. She appreciates working with both dogs and cats for the unique traits of each species. Her dog Penny, a border collie mix, accompanies her to work. During her free time she likes to read, play with her kids, binge watch Netflix and run.
